History Museum on the Square - Springfield Tech Week

  • History Museum on the Square 154 Park Central Square Springfield, MO, 65806 United States (map)

History Museum on the Square is sponsoring this opportunity to share that museums can be fun, educational and full of interactive technology. Stop by for FREE admission throughout the day or just before a variety of Thursday evening events take place downtown!

History Museum on the Square caters to different learning techniques in the museum and each gallery, including digital videos sharing stories, written panels, artifacts, and hands-on interactives such as their Time Machine Trolley. This interactive time machine can be guided to various 1-minute digital stories. Another interactive exhibit includes the WildBill Shoot-Out with a period revolver altered so the visitor can actually handle the revolver and shoot a target.

The museum is five floors with 18,000 Square feet of exhibit space - most visitors stay for an hour to an hour and a half.

RSVP is not required. Check in at the front desk to indicate you are there for the Springfield Tech Week special. Visitors will receive a welcome/directional speech, have the opportunity to ask questions, then can view the museum at their own pace. Available from 10am-5pm.

The History Museum on the Square is a private, non-profit 501c3 museum that is sharing the stories of the crossroads to engage, educate and inspire our diverse audience while strengthening our future by learning about our past and our culture.
