Navigating Cybersecurity Basics: Exploring Cybersecurity Attack Techniques and How to Defend Your Network, led by Gabe Hamlet, Cybersecurity Instructor.
This workshop event aims to combine the fundamentals of cybersecurity with practical hands-on experience opportunities. During this event we will explore a number of different attack methods that are utilized against networks and talk about some of the tools and techniques that can defend against them. This workshop will be geared to a level where anyone should be able to participate, grow their knowledge on the subject, and gain hands-on experience attacking and defending networks.
Prerequisites and Requirements: Attendees should bring a Windows or Mac laptop. This training is designed where anyone should be able to participate.
Python Programming, led by Jackson Lewis-Hite, Computer Information Sciences Instructor
In this four-hour session you will learn the basics of programming with Python and writing simple scripts that can help with daily tasks. We will cover variables and data types, functions, control flow, collection management, classes, virtual environment setup, package management, and basic file input/output. Beginners are welcome and no experience is required!
