STC Announces Two New Board Members and Honors Two with Emeritus Status

New board members will play a pivotal role in sustaining and amplifying STC’s momentum leading into its 5th anniversary in 2026.

Springfield Tech Council announces two new board members who will help advance nonprofit’s work in the mission to elevate the tech sector.

“We’re thrilled to welcome two new members who will bring diverse experience and insight to our work,” said STC Executive Director Emily Reed. “The nominating committee was intentional and thorough in its process, presenting individuals for board approval with expertise in strategic priority areas, representation from previously underrepresented industry clusters, and/or are actively involved in committee work.”

The new board members began on August 28, 2025. The two new board members are:

  • Morgan Chin, Software Developer, O’Reilly Automotive

  • Katie Wendt, Principal, Outrun Strategies

Two esteemed founding board members, Jason Arend and Sherry Coker, will transition to emeritus status. This status honors their lasting contributions and reflects their continued involvement with STC.

“First, we want to recognize our true appreciation of the incredible impact Jason and Sherry have had over their many years of dedicated service to STC and its proceeding organizations. Their leadership has significantly shaped who we are today. At the same time, I’m genuinely excited to see what Morgan and Katie can help us achieve. Their energy, enthusiasm, and skillset are going to be a big boost for our organization,” said Dan Watson, chair of the STC board.
